May mga bagay na mas madaling sabihin sa sarili mong wika.

Sometimes you know exactly what you mean, pero pag sinabi mo na in English, parang may kulang.

Here, you can speak in English, Tagalog, Taglish, or move between them naturally. Walang kailangang i-translate perfectly. Therapy can meet you in the language that feels most like yours.

May mga bagay na walang exact translation.

Gigil. Tampo. Lambing. Hiya. Utang na loob. Pakikisama.

We can explain what these words mean in English, pero iba pa rin when you've lived what they mean.

The same can be true of our emotions, relationships, and family experiences. Sometimes English comes naturally. Sometimes Tagalog says it better. Sometimes Taglish talaga.

Dito, hindi mo kailangang pumili.

Kung paano ka natural magsalita, puwedeng ganoon din dito.

Culture can be part of the conversation without becoming the whole conversation.

Family, migration, faith, identity, hiya, utang na loob, pakikisama, expectations, and responsibility may all shape how you understand yourself. Or they may not be what brings you to therapy at all.

We won't assume we understand your experience simply because we share parts of a culture. We'll stay curious about what being Filipino means, or doesn't mean, in your particular story.

The values we grow up with can hold so much of what matters to us: pamilya, malasakit, respeto, pakikisama, pananampalataya, pagtitiis, sipag, and remembering where we came from.

Therapy isn't about deciding that these values are good or bad, or asking you to become more individualistic to be “healthier.”

Instead, we can get curious.

Ano ang gusto mong dalhin?
Ano ang gusto mong gawin differently?
At ano ang gusto mong maging iyo?

Because culture can shape your story without deciding how the rest of it has to be written.
