Thatβs a great question! If you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling to cope with your emotions, facing difficulties in your relationships, or simply feel like you're not living the life you want to live, therapy can be beneficial. Remember that therapy is not only for those with mental health diagnoses, but also for anyone who feels they need support to navigate life's challenges.

We are glad you asked! The first session is typically about you and your therapist getting to know each other. Your therapist might ask about your background, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine if the therapist is a good fit for you.
-
It's important to feel comfortable and connected with your therapist. In fact, the therapeutic relationship is an important aspect of the therapeutic work. If at anytime you don't feel like it's a good fit after a few sessions, it's perfectly okay to look for another therapist. Let your therapist know. Your therapist will understand and can even provide referrals if you wish.
-
Most therapists suggest starting with weekly sessions to establish a therapeutic relationship and gain momentum. However, the frequency can be adjusted based on your needs, goals, and how you're progressing.
-
Yes, of course! However, it's important to discuss ending therapy with your therapist to plan proper termination of service, determine additional services or referrals you may need, and consider how to maintain your gains outside of therapy.
