An Intentional Therapy Space Where Healing Begins The Moment You Walk In

calm and grounding in-person office for individual and couples therapy in vaughan, ontario

Growth Psychotherapy is now offering in-person therapy in Vaughan, Ontario for Individuals and Couples experiencing disconnection, stress, burnout, trauma, and navigating culture and identity

When I was designing this office, I kept asking myself one simple question:

If someone walks in carrying stress, trauma, burnout, or emotional heaviness, will their body feel even just a little safer here?

This space wasn’t created to look impressive. I designed it to feel grounded. My intention was for the space to feel regulating, that the environment itself becomes part of the therapy work.

Because for many people, healing doesn’t start with words. Healing is embodied. It starts when your shoulders drop. When your breath slows. When your nervous system realizes, okay… I’m safe enough here.

That’s what this office is meant to offer.

Take the first gentle step

A Space That Supports the Work, Not Just Houses It

This is an in-person therapy space located at 9401 Jane Street in Vaughan, inside a quiet medical building with free parking and full accessibility.

But more than the logistics, what matters most to me is how the room feels.

The space is calm, neutral, grounded, and not overstimulating. There are real plants, soft textures, natural light, natural materials, and cozy elements that invite your body to settle.

You’ll see:

  • Soft, neutral tones that don’t overwhelm your senses

  • Natural textures like jute, wood, macramΓ©, and rattan

  • Big windows allowing natural light to come in

  • Cozy blankets and throw pillows within reach

  • Greenery that brings life and grounding into the room

It’s the kind of space where you don’t feel like you have to β€œperform” therapy. You can just arrive as you are.

Why the Physical Space Matters in Therapy

For many of my clients, especially those who live with trauma, chronic stress, or burnout, the body is already working overtime to stay safe.

So the therapy room itself becomes part of the work.

A calm, grounded space can:

  • Help your nervous system downshift

  • Make it easier to access emotions safely

  • Support deeper presence and connection

  • Reduce that β€œon edge” feeling that many people carry into sessions

Sometimes the most therapeutic thing at the start of a session isn’t what we say. It’s the moment your body realizes it doesn’t have to brace.

The People Who Hold the Space

This office was created not just as a physical space, but as a therapeutic container held by the people who practice here.

I’m Gelica, a Registered Psychotherapist and psychiatric emergency nurse. My work is deeply shaped by years in high-acuity healthcare, supporting people in crisis, trauma, burnout, and overwhelming emotional experiences. I know what it’s like to carry a lot and to be the one everyone else leans on.

That lived experience is part of how I show up in the therapy room. With steadiness. With nervous-system awareness. With deep respect for how hard people work to survive and cope.

Alongside me is Kurt, an associate therapist who brings his own grounded, thoughtful presence into this space. Kurt works especially well with clients navigating identity, cultural experiences, stress, and the pressure of trying to hold multiple roles and expectations. His approach is warm, relational, and attuned. He shares the same belief that safety and connection come before problem-solving. You can learn more about Kurt here.

Together, we hold this space with intention.

An Invitation to Slow Down

This office is meant to feel like a pause.

A place where you don’t have to hold everything together.
A place where you don’t have to explain or justify your exhaustion.
A place where it’s okay to take off the armor, even for 50 minutes.

Whether you’re coming in for trauma work, stress and burnout, relationship therapy, navigating culture and identity, or to make sense of everything you’ve been carrying, my hope is that this room helps you feel supported before we even begin talking.
