Kurt brings a calm, thoughtful, and grounded presence to his work with clients. He is a Filipino-Canadian, second-generation Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is committed to providing trauma-informed, person-centred care for individuals seeking clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper understanding of themselves. Kurt offers therapy to clients across Ontario, Canada, and works especially well with those who are new to therapy or looking for focused, short-term support.

About Kurt

Kurt works with adults aged 18 and older who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, low mood, identity questions, relational challenges, and the impact of ongoing stress. Many of the clients he supports describe feeling emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, despite functioning well in their day-to-day lives. Kurt offers a supportive space where clients can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of patterns that may be contributing to emotional disconnection or distress.

He completed his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and has received extensive clinical training within university mental health settings. Kurt has experience providing both walk-in and ongoing counselling, conducting intake assessments, and supporting clients within short-term and solution-focused models of care. He is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and practices under clinical supervision.

Approach to Therapy

Kurt’s approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused. He prioritizes creating a sense of safety and structure in sessions, helping clients feel supported without pressure to move faster or deeper than they are ready for. His work integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based, and solution-focused strategies, tailored to each client’s goals and needs.

Kurt values clarity, reflection, and practical change. Clients often describe his sessions as grounding and clarifying, particularly when they feel overwhelmed or uncertain about where to start. He believes therapy can be both thoughtful and manageable, and he works alongside clients to help them build insight, emotional awareness, and more intentional ways of relating to themselves and others.

Specialized Experience

Kurt has experience working within multidisciplinary mental health environments, including university counselling centres and trauma-informed group settings. His background includes providing short-term individual counselling, facilitating skills-based groups, coordinating intakes, and supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, relational stress, and identity-related concerns.

He is particularly mindful of how culture, family expectations, and intergenerational experiences can shape emotional wellbeing. Kurt approaches this work with cultural humility and sensitivity, recognizing the unique ways these factors influence how individuals understand themselves and their relationships.

Personal Background

As a second-generation Filipino-Canadian, K brings an awareness of cultural context, identity, and belonging into his work with clients. His professional background includes experience in service-oriented and fast-paced environments, which has contributed to his steady presence and ability to remain grounded under pressure - qualities that many clients find reassuring.

Outside of his clinical work, Kurt values balance, reflection, and community. He brings curiosity and intention into both his personal and professional life, and he is committed to ongoing learning and growth as a therapist.
